Sarah Tracey

Wine Ambassador

Sarah Tracey is a wine professional living, drinking, and entertaining in Brooklyn, NY. Sarah is passionate about sharing all the knowledge shes soaked up during her years in the beverage industry. Whether teaching wine & cheese pairing classes, selecting wines for corporate and media events, or creating wine-themed touches for intimate celebrations, shes driven by her love for the smaller producers making fabulous wines who are also mindful of our environment. You can find her pouring wine nightly at City Winery New York  Manhattan’s only working winery  and on the weekends, moonlighting as a wine ambassador with City Wine Tours. On her website The Lush Life, Sarah shares her favorite budget-friendly bottles along with informative and approachable wine knowledge and expertise. She’s a regular contributor on wine and entertaining at Martha Stewart Living Online and Martha Stewart Weddings.


Vitalii Dascaliuc

Wine Ambassador

Vitalii was born and raised in Republic of Moldova  the country with the highest wine per capita production in the world. There Vitalii got to learn about viticulture and wine making since his early childhood. He continued developing his passion for food and wine after moving to USA. After years of working in restaurants in Washington DC and New York City, dozens of books read and thousands of wines tasted, Vitalii proudly holds the title of Wine Geek! Vitalii is no typical wine week  he is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators and holds a WSET Advanced Certificate. In addition to being a Wine Ambassador for City Wine Tours, Vitalii works as a Sommelier at our SoHo partner City Winery and at La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels a natural wine bar in Soho.


Justin Miller

Wine Ambassador

Justin Miller is an advertising executive turned wine guy. He has worked at the biggest agencies in the world on the largest brands. He created advertising campaigns that won many awards and sold tons. After years of just drinking wine, he decided to follow his passion into the business of wine. He has sold and marketed wines from all over the world . . . and tasted copious amounts in the process. He currently works as a marketing and brand building consultant to some of the largest importers of fine wine. He also knows about space planning and design having worked at an architectural firm in Manhattan. He has an approachable style and makes understanding the nuances and complexity of wine easy and fun. And he loves going to the gym and Nebbiolo.


Michael Wells

Wine Ambassador

In addition to his role as a wine ambassador, Michael is also a wine captain at City Winery (the first stop on the SoHo tour) and professional dancer  performing with a ballet company in New York City. Michael has a deep-rooted interest in wine; he completed his first Court of Master Sommeliers exam at 21. He combines his passion for wine with his experience on stage to bring a unique, fun, and relatable approach to every tour he gives.


Allen Alexis

Wine Ambassador

While pursuing a French Literature Degree at SUNY Geneseo, Allen Alexis studied abroad at the University of Paul Valery III in Montpellier, France. There, he explored local wineries and discovered French wine culture. Allen was soon attending wine exhibitions and seeking out wine professionals to learn about food and wine pairings. He has worked for various companies in the wine and food industries and is an expert in chocolate, caviar, wine, and spirits. His goal as a wine ambassador is to provide a great atmosphere for learning, sharing and fun!


Gil Bauer

Wine Ambassador

Gil spent a school year in France when he was 19 and fell in love with food and wine. After working for nearly 30 years in financial and professional services, Gil joined the wine business full-time as a wholesale representative for a great French importer, Martine’s Wines. He has completed the Advanced (Level 3) WSET Certification with Merit. Gil is also an ex-President and current board member and presenter for the Essex County Wine Society (ecwsnj.net), a non-profit tasting group operating for 40+ years in New Jersey. Recently, Gil was a finalist in the Heritage Auctions Blind Tasting Challenge. Gil believes that wine tasting is subjective and that “only you know what a wine tastes like once it’s in your mouth.”
