Our Tour of the Week for July 13 featuring the Back Bay neighborhood began at Legal SeaFoods, on World Cup Finals Sunday, with 10 guests, led by Wine Ambassador Judy Lebel. Legal’s served us 2 wines made especially for the restaurant, the Manawa New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and the DeLoach Block 51 Pinot Noir, as well as a small portion of lump crab cake with remolade.
The two wines picture (above and below) are the Argentinian Malbec La Linda and the German Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rose’ served at Post 390 in honor of the World Cup!
Our 2nd stop on our Tour of the Week for July 13 was Post 390, who altered their wine selection to our Cupa Mondiala request for a German wine (Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rose’) versus an Argentinian wine (La Linda Malbec). Like most of the World Cup games, our guests found there was no clear winner. The group really enjoyed trying these new wines. A big hit!
Among the 10 guests were 3 wine lovers celebrating birthdays! L’Espalier gave each of them a slice of cake with a candle. The cake looked so delicious, 2 of the folks blew out their candles and started eating before I could snap a photo. We paired the cake with the Haut Cabaniex Medoc and the Offley White Port.
To cap off the tour guests enjoyed the tour of the famous L’Espalier kitchen. (L’Espalier was featured yet again in this year’s Best of Boston!)
